If you are married to an Australian Citizen, permanent resident, you will have to apply for a Partner Visa to permanently live with your spouse in Australia.

Partner Visa is generally divided into Two Phases:

• Partner Visa (Temporary) – Subclass 820
• Partner Visa (Permanent) – Subclass 801

The spouse of an Australian Citizen or a Permanent Resident has to suffice the eligibility requirement of the Subclass 820, to be awarded a temporary resident visa for duration of two years.

Upon completion of the two years period, the spouse will have to apply for Subclass 801 and suffice the requirements to be granted a permanent residence visa.
